Benerd School of Education

We encourage all graduating students and their families to attend the Commencement at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th, as an all-university event to honor all of our graduates, to honor distinguished faculty members for specialized awards, and to hear from one or more commencement speakers. Please do wear your cap and gown and march with the faculty from the School of Education at Commencement on Saturday. Benerd School of Education building

School Meetings & Events
All graduating students are invited to attend a reception in their honor in the lobby of the School of Education. We welcome the opportunity to recognize our fine students and their upcoming graduation. Date and Time: TBA

Speaker
Each school and college selects an inspirational and distinguished speaker to be a part of their Diploma & Hooding Ceremony.  Please check back for more information.

Awards
Special awards and honors for graduates will be given duringthe Commencement ceremony at 9:30 am. Awards and honors specific to School of Education credential students will be presented during the Diploma & Hooding ceremony at 1 pm. Students to be honored will be notified in advance.

General
As you can imagine, there are many tasks in preparation for graduation.  Here are a few important items for your consideration.

Graduation Reception
We cordially invite you to attend a special reception for our graduates and their families. The reception will be held on the South Lawn next to The Long Theatre immediately following the Diploma & Hooding Ceremony at 2:30 pm on May 16, 2009. We look forward to seeing you there.

After Graduation
Once graduation is complete, there are still items that may need your attention, or that of the graduate.  Items in orange are links to additional information.

When does diploma arrive?
Diplomas are mailed to the address specified on the Application for Graduation, 3 to 4 months after the semester in which you graduate. If your address changes, it is your responsibility to inform the Office of the Registrar of this change. Returned diplomas will be kept on file five years and then destroyed. There is a fee for a replacement diploma borne by the graduate.
