There comes a time when you graduate and begin a career path. What are your options? For many, like me, the idea of working in a lab for your career seems like the only option. Maybe you will discover the cure for a disease or maybe you will work within a team of scientists to solve some problems. I am here to tell you that there are other options besides the lab. My hope is that this seminar will unlock the preconceived notion that once you are a chemist, you are always a chemist. While this is true, there are many opportunities out in the real world that nobody told me about. I am here to tell you what I have learned since graduating from Pacific. About the Speaker Kenneth Drew, Ph.D., is the VP at Flamma USA and has been with the Flamma Group for 13 years after being the first employee of Flamma USA. Early in his career as an organic chemist, Ken worked in the lab for 14 years on all facets of drug development including medicinal chemistry, process chemistry and analytical chemistry. He transitioned to business development 17 years ago and has a strong understanding of what it takes to move a drug through the process to ultimately becoming approved by the FDA. Ken was the first of his family to go to college and graduated from UOP in 1984 with his Chemistry degree and then stayed at UOP to complete his Ph.D. in 1991 under the direction of Dr. Paul Gross. He went on the post-doc at the University of Notre Dame before moving to the Boston area where he has lived for 25 years. 3601 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95211, USA College of the Pacific College of the Pacific America/Los_Angeles public
