Powell Scholars Program

Annual Award: $15,000

The Powell Scholarship is the university's premier academic merit award. This scholarship may be renewed for undergraduate study and may be accompanied by additional need-based financial aid.

A program designed to cultivate future leaders through mentoring, instruction, and service

In addition to the generous scholarship award, Powell Scholars will have special access to research opportunities, study abroad programs, and nationally recognized speakers visiting Pacific, and will participate in extensive mentoring and leadership development.

High School counselors are encouraged to recommend  students who they feel have superior leadership ability and commitment to academic excellence, to complete the Powell Scholarship application Form and have their counselor complete the Powell Scholarship Recommendation Form by the deadline.

Recommended students will compete for up to 20 scholarships awarded annually by the university.  Selection will involve a personal interview designed to asses each candidate's social-emotional competencies in relation to leadership potential.
