Pacific is proud to work with Sun Microsystems as a Center of Excellence with the Pacific Sun Ray Program. Pacific recognizes the need to keep abreast with the rapid changes in technology. Sun Microsystems recognized Pacific as a partner in testing the Sun Ray devices to evaluate the educational impact of these thin client systems throughout Pacific's campus.
In partnership with Sun Microsystems, Pacific offers our campus community enhanced access to academic computing resources. Through this initiative Pacific is working with Sun by providing feedback on the project. The extensive use in an academic environment of hot desk technology, thin client devices, kiosk mode, and centralized computing is of great interest to Sun and Pacific. Pacific recognizes this as an excellent opportunity for the students, faculty and staff to use an exciting and promising computing tool.
