Pacific's engineering and computer science students receive many benefits from the Co-op Program. Participation in co-op improves students' understanding of differences between engineering theory and actual employment within an engineering firm. Working in industry keeps students informed about cutting edge developments within their majors. It also gives students the opportunity to work with professonal engineers in actual problem-solving situations. Students' communication skills are developed through interaction with co-workers and contacts are established that can enhance students' careers. The Co-op Program helps to ease the transition from student to working engineer and helps students define personal career interests and goals. Last, but not least, co-op income helps defray student tuition costs!
