<Copy type="dhtml" hidden="false" label="Copy" readonly="false" required="true">provides student athletes with a unique and powerful way to learn first hand about effective leadership and collaboration through daily practice and competition. Pacific Crew is the University's competitive collegiate rowing program. Students train from 5am-7:30am four days a week, and from 7-10am on Saturdays, plus two additional practices are lead by team captains each week. The dedicated student athletes have grown Pacific Crew into a respected West Coast rowing program. Tiger Crews routinely finish in the Top 10 at Western Regional Championships. <br /><img height="167" src="Images/student-life/crew.jpg" style="float: left; margin: 5px;" width="250" />Student learning and assessment-based programming is intentionally focused on leadership and collaboration skill development. Developing these skills is an integral part of the rowing experience at Pacific. Pacific Rowing also provides affordable and high quality recreational and competitive rowing opportunities to the Stockton community through its Deep Water Rowing Association. Now in its 5th year, Deep Water offers recreational and competitive rowing programming to middle school youth (Explorers), high school student athletes (Juniors), and adults 18 and up (Masters). The Deep Water Juniors program is a member of the AmericaRows initiative sponsored by US Rowing and was recently recognized as a model program at the 2011 US Rowing Convention. In addition, Pacific Crew's Jafra Thomas was a featured speaker at the Conference where he discussed the importance of providing sport access to traditionally underrepresented community populations. Each year Pacific Rowing hosts three major regattas on the Stockton Deep Water Channel. The Head of the Pacific, a signature portion of homecoming weekend festivities, has grown to become one of the biggest 5k races of the fall for college, high school, and masters crew program in Northern California.
