Dr. Louise Stark (Professor Emeritus) Featured in “100 Inspiring Women in STEM Awards” in Insight Into Diversity magazine

Congratulations to Dr. Louise Stark, Professor Emeritus of Engineering and Computer Science, on being named one of "100 Inspiring Women in STEM" in the September 2015 Insight Into Diversity magazine. These awards recognize exemplary women who inspire and encourage the next generation of young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Berit Gundersen, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, and Chris Goff, Assistant Provost for Diversity, nominated Dr. Stark in recognition for her efforts to recruit high-quality female faculty to the department. As a result, Pacific increased the percentage of female faculty in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department to far above the national average. The nomination also recognizes Dr. Stark for her countless hours as faculty adviser for Pacific's chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, and for her help to establish the San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons conference that introduces 6th to 12th grade girls to STEM disciplines.
