Faculty Affairs Activities and Deadlines

Greetings Colleagues,

I would like to share with you some of the upcoming activities to support, recognize and appreciate Pacific faculty:

New Faculty Luncheon
On Thursday, November 12, we will host our next monthly New Faculty Luncheon from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the Regents Room. This month we'll learn about and discuss internal funding opportunities. Look for an Outlook invitation in your email, or please RSVP to Erika Greet at 209.946.2551 or so that we can plan for lunch accordingly.

University Academic Awards

  • The University Awards Committee (UAC) continues to seek nominations for Honorary Degrees and the Order of Pacific. Nominations are due November 16 and December 1, respectively. Follow the link above for more information and a nomination form. 
  • In addition to these awards, the University Awards Committee is seeking nominations for the University Distinguished Faculty Award and the United Methodist University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award. Nominations are due February 15, 2016.
    • The University Distinguished Faculty award is given for outstanding accomplishment by a tenured faculty member in any or all of the following areas: teaching, research, creative endeavors and service to the University. One award is made each year at University Convocation. The award includes an unrestricted monetary award. 
    • Each year, the United Methodist University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award recognizes one Pacific faculty member for their dedication to teaching and their contributions to campus life. Recipients are nominated by members of the campus community. The award and its accompanying stipend are made possible through the generosity of the United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry.

TEC Grant Proposals Sought

  • The deadline for Technology in Education (TEC) grant proposals is Friday, November 20. From instructional technology conferences to large-scale pioneering projects, $130,000 in grants is available to fund innovative technology instruction.
