Development of Strategic Enrollment Plan Underway

What will Pacific's student population look like 5 to 10 years from now? What are the drivers for strategic enrollment at all levels on Pacific's three campuses? How do Pacific 2020 and the 2020 Academic Plan guide enrollment strategies? Pacific's Strategic Enrollment Plan (SEP) Committee is considering enrollment trends in conceptualizing a framework that will guide Pacific's enrollment strategies for the next 5 years and chart the course for enrollment for the next decade.

At the October Board of Regents meeting, the Regents considered enrollment drivers of academic quality, diversity and a diverse learning environment, and financial sustainability. They considered market potentials for growth in all enrollment sectors, particularly graduate programs and adult learners. Importantly, the commitment to preserving Pacific's undergraduate, residential, liberal arts experience was reaffirmed. The Regents formed an ad hoc committee to assist the SEP Committee in developing the enrollment plan.

The conceptual framework for the SEP will be combined with a financial plan. The SEP Committee began last month to consult and collaborate with several campus stakeholder groups on key University committees. The SEP Committee will ensure all faculty, staff and students have opportunities to participate in open discussions across our three campuses throughout the entirety of plan development. The Strategic Planning Committee is the primary shared governance committee for vetting the draft plan throughout its developmental stages; however the SEP Committee will also collaborate and consult broadly across the University.
