The Department of Religious & Classical Studies strongly encourages its students to take advantage of Pacific's Education Abroad programs. Foreign travel provides unique study opportunities and enriching experiences outside of the classroom. Our students have pursued opportunities in places such as Bali, Greece, Japan, Italy, Scotland, and Spain.

In 2010, the Institute of International Education ranked Pacific 14th in the country for international study programs.

Keri Olsen '07Keri Olsen '07 studied at the Lorenzo de' Medici Institute in Florence, Italy.  During her stay she had the opportunity to travel throughout Italy. She is pictured above in Venice and to the right eating a pizza in Lucca.

Keri shares her thoughts on her study abroad experience:

"While studying, living and traveling in Italy I experienced appreciation for the grandeur and simplicity of centuries-old culture, fresh food, and art that I had only dreamed of seeing up close; formative friendships with passionate Italians and Americans; exciting nights of dancing in a discoteche until the morning hours; and awe at the beauty of a country's landscape and people I was unfamiliar with.

"Studying abroad provided freedom to explore who I was and what I wanted out of life. I came back to Pacific with a new outlook on the kind of person I wanted to be and what I valued. Studying abroad was one of the best decisions and experiences of my life."
