Pacific Piano Day

Eligible high school pianists are invited to join us for a day of music making with Pacific Conservatory piano faculty on Saturday, November 3. Participate in master classes, meet current Pacific music students, and hear exciting performances. Earn the chance to win a partial scholarship to our summer Pacific Piano Camp.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
9:00 am Registration and welcome
9:30 am Master classes
12:00 pm Lunch with Conservatory Dean Peter Witte, Pacific students and faculty
1:00 pm Master classes
2:30 pm Campus tour
3:00 pm Practicing, Nerves, and Performance
4:00 pm Recital by current Pacific students
4:30 pm Reception

$40 Participant
$20 Observer (those who attend but do not want to perform)
$10 Piano teachers

Parents are welcome to observe the master classes free of charge. Lunch is $10 for those who wish to join us.

Eligibility

All high school students (2018/19 school year) performing at the Certificate of Merit Level 8 and above (eg. Bach Inventions, sonatas by Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven, ChopinNocturnes). Participants are admitted by teacher recommendation.

Repertoire

Prepare one piece (memorization preferred).

Master Classes

Participants will be taught in a master class setting by a member of the Conservatory's piano faculty, then will observe their fellow participants working with the other faculty members.
