Hervey Taylor is the first president of the SGSA, Kathy Baird is treasurer, and Anne Wong is the secretary. Dr. Rod Githens is the faculty advisor. Since they are in the early stages of developing their membership includes only the first school of education cohort but they will be offering membership to Cohort 2 and other Sacramento graduate students when classes resume this semester. SGSA will be reaching out to new students during the August 26th student orientation. The group's primary purpose is to offer encouragement, motivation, and academic support to graduate students on the Sacramento campus. As the organization grows, they plan to hold social events and offer a range of student support services in a variety of areas.
