Hans Carnice '08

Carnice, HansCaptain Hans Carnice was born in San Francisco, CA.  He enlisted into the Marine Corps Reserve in 2003 where he completed Recruit Training; Marine Combat Training; and Basic Landing Support Specialist School.

He was assigned to 4th Landing Support Battalion in Concord, CA.  In 2005, he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq with Combat Logistics Battalion-8 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In 2009, he earned an active duty commission through the Platoon Leader's Course.   He graduated from The Basic School in 2009 and the Armored Basic Officer Leaders Course in 2010.  He reported to 1st Tank Battalion in Twentynine Palms, CA where he served as Tank Platoon Commander.  In 2010 he deployed as a Platoon Commander in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion conducting route clearance operations in Helmand, Afghanistan.   From 2011 to 2013, billets include Executive Officer for Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Tank Battalion; Assistant Operations Officer for I MEF Headquarters Group (Forward), Helmand Province, Afghanistan; and AT-TOW Platoon Commander, 1st Tank Battalion.   In 2013, he reported to Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, VA.  As a Project Officer, he oversaw the cost, schedule, and performance of M1A1 Main Battle Tank lethality and communication suites.   Captain Carnice reported to Camp Lejeune, NC in 2016 where he currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor for Company F, 4th Tank Battalion 4th Marine Division.   Captain Carnice graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Spanish.  He enjoys wine, rock climbing, and riding his fixed gear.  He is married to the former Megan Haas (Pacific '07) of Lancaster, PA and they have two boys.
