Accreditation Status

The Doctor of Audiology program at the University of the Pacific has been awarded candidacy status by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a ten-year accreditation status by the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE).

CAA Accreditation

The Doctor of Audiology program at University of the Pacific was awarded candidacy status for accreditation on March 20, 2015 by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800.498.2071 or 301.296.5700.

Candidacy is a "pre-accreditation" status with the CAA, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of five years.

CAA provides the opportunity for new programs seeking accreditation status to participate in its candidacy, or pre-accreditation, program. Once candidacy status has been awarded, the program must submit annual progress reports to demonstrate continued and progressive compliance with standards, including appropriate supporting documentation, towards achieving full accreditation within the required five-year period. Programs with candidacy accreditation may enroll and graduate students.

More information on the CAA and its accreditation standards may be obtained by accessing the documents at asha.org/academic/accreditation.

ACAE Accreditation

The Doctor of Audiology program at University of the Pacific was awarded maximum possible accreditation status of 10 years in April 2018 by the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE). It is also the first accelerated Doctor of Audiology Program in the country to be accredited by ACAE

The ACAE Board of Directors voted unanimously to award the program accreditation status through April 30, 2028.

More information on the ACAE and its accreditation standards may be obtained by accessing the documents at acaeaccred.org.
