Margery L. Grey joined Pacific in 2016 as the Associate Vice President for University Strategic Communications. She leads the branding, marketing, communications and external relations strategy and programs for the university. Grey is as a member of the President’s leadership team and serves as strategic advisor in reputation management for the university. She oversees marketing, branding, digital and social media, media relations, issues management and crisis communications, internal communications, creative services and external relations. Grey manages a staff of 21 professionals and partners with Enrollment Management and Development and Alumni Relations to advance the university’s admissions and fundraising strategies.
Prior to her work at Pacific, Grey served as the assistant vice chancellor for communications for the 23-campus California State University System, the largest public university system in the country. She led, integrated and aligned the work of the campuses in marketing, branding, web, digital and social media, video and print publications, outreach and special events to increase stakeholder support through measurable programs. Her previous experience includes leadership positions in marketing and communications in health care, publishing, and non-profits. Grey has written for the New York Times, regional magazines and consumer publications.
