WRC's Focus on Leadership

One of the main pillars of the Women's Resource Center is preparing students for leadership roles both on campus and in the larger community. We demonstrate this focus in multiple ways:

Women of Distinction

This annual awards luncheon recognizes women identified Pacific students, faculty, staff, as well as members of the Stockton community, who have made significant contributions to the advancement of women and gender equity, and/or who have demonstrated outstanding professional or public leadership. The recipients are honored at a ceremony during Women's History Month. Six awards are given each year: Pacific Staff, Pacific Faculty, Pacific Greek Woman, Graduate Student, Undergraduate and Stockton Community Member.

Title IX Peer Education

The Title IX Peer Education Program (TIX) aims to empower students to prevent and respond to gender-based violence in their communities. In collaboration with the Office of Title IX at Pacific, Peer Educators are trained to identify warning signs of toxic and abusive relationships, address root causes of gender-based violence, assist survivors in identifying resources, and promote healthy relationships and gender norms. Through the TIX Peer Education Program, participants will be able to further develop their interpersonal and emotional competencies. Participants will be more aware of themselves and others by engaging in dialogues with their peers. Part of the curriculum focuses on learning to engage in healthy dialogue, and by practicing and observing healthy communication styles, participants will increase their knowledge on consent and effective communication.

To learn more about the TIX Peer Education Program and/or how to get involved as a TIX Peer Educator, please contact check out the TIX website or contact the Women's Resource Center.
