Behind the Virtual Commencement

Pacific has altered its commencement plans for 2020 due to the current social distancing requirements. We recognize that this situation still hurts on many levels and we are sorry.

As Pacific has for the past 168 years, we will honor graduates for their persistence and success. It is important that we recognize the achievements of our graduates and to do that, Pacific will offer several ways to honor the Class of 2020. Special online ceremonies will be held to mark the completion of your coursework and ceremonially confer your degree. Additional in-person school and college events will also be scheduled at a time when it is deemed safe to do so after large gatherings are again allowed by State and regional leaders.

After seeking input and hearing the requests from this year’s graduating students, we are more committed than ever to find a path forward to reschedule in-person ceremonies. We will initially celebrate in a new way, using technology to unite us. We also greatly look forward to celebrating with our graduates in person, when it is safe to do so. As we wait for that time, please gather virtually with classmates and loved ones as the Pacific Administration and faculty honor and recognize your accomplishments. You are valued Pacificans and Tigers for Life!
