Your Pathway to Success

Many students cite our Cooperative Education Program (CO-OP) as the reason they decided to attend Pacific’s School of Engineering and Computer Science. CO-OP gives you the opportunity to gain real-world experience in your field for six months and gain units toward your degree. Through CO-OP, you’ll practice and grow your engineering and computer science skills and develop professionalism and soft skills to thrive in your future career.

Create the Future

The new SOECS Makerspace will reimagine experiential learning at the intersection of art, engineering and design. The Makerspace’s unique design aims to increase collaboration among students through team workspaces, a lounge, whiteboards and flexible furniture. This innovative, interdisciplinary space will also feature 3D printers and laser cutters for prototyping, computer workstations, a paint booth and a machine shop for metal and woodwork.

What our students are saying

“The Cooperative Education Program (CO-OP) caught my eye and was one of the reasons I chose Pacific. During your third year, students get workforce experience while receiving college credit. CO-OP allows us to learn and grow in areas beyond what you learn in a classroom.”

- Owen Scott ’26, Mechanical Engineering (BS Mechanical Engineering/MS Engineering Management Dual-Degree Program)

“Mechanical engineers can go into aerospace, manufacturing, robotics and even the medical field. I'm doing research here at Pacific under Dr. JuEun Lee, and she looks at biomechanics and drilling into bone. She works with surgeons and with our dental school, so it's kind of neat that an engineer can fit into that medical area. I would love to work on medical devices or even product design; that'd be cool. There’s kind of unlimited options, you know?”

- Calista Morita ‘24, Mechanical Engineering (BS/MS Mechanical Engineering Dual-Degree Program)
