Flute and Hip-Hop
Professor Brittany Trotter will give a lecture on Flute and Hip-Hop as part of Pacific’s Conservatory Black History Lecture Series.
Since 2017, flute samples have been trending in popular hip-hop songs across the globe. From Future’s Mask Off to Lizzo, hip-hop has brought a 21st-century transformation to the identity of the flute. In Flute & Hip-Hop, Dr. Brittany Trotter will discuss and demonstrate how they fuse together the genres of hip-hop and classical music in their performance and pedagogy.
