Highlights of the 2020-2021 SHIP (Student Health Insurance Plan)

  • Fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
  • Unlimited policy year maximum
  • Annual individual deductible: $300 In-Network and Out-of-Network
  • In-Network services generally covered at 80%
  • Prescription drug coverage with low copayments: $15 for generic, $30 for brand, $50 for specialty
  • Worldwide travel assistance services through GeoBlue

2020-2021 Cost and Coverage Dates

  • Dental (not including Dental Hygiene) and AEGD Residents - Dugoni School of Dentistry
    • July 1st -  December 31st - Summer/Autumn term
    • January 1st - June 30th - Winter/Spring term
    • Cost: $3,450 annual; $862.50 per quarter
  • Graduate and Professional - Stockton, Sacramento, San Francisco
    • August 1st - January 31st - Fall term
    • February 1st - July 31st - Spring term
    • Cost:  $3,450 annual; $1,725 per term

    *Update: Physician Assistant Program new cohorts starting January 2020 will have the same coverage dates as Dugoni School of Dentistry

  • Law - McGeorge School of Law
    • August 1st - January 31st - Fall term
    • February 1st - July 31st - Spring term
    • Cost: $3,450 annual; $1,725 per term
  • Undergraduate
    • August 1st - January 31st - Fall term
    • February 1st - July 31st - Spring term
    • Cost:  $2,714 annual; $1,357 per term
  • International Students
    • Cost: $2,714 annual

*SHIP fees are charged to your student account each term along with your registration fees.  You will be required to pay these fees and will be covered by Pacific SHIP unless you have an approved waiver application on file with the Insurance Office.
