If you have family coming to town for Commencement weekend, consider exploring the city’s diversity at Stockton Flavor Fest on the historic downtown waterfront. This two-day celebration of Stockton’s multi-cultural communities and cuisines will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 14 and 15.
Visit Stockton organized the festival with the support of the City of Stockton, local nonprofits, vendors, artists and creatives in order to spotlight Stockton as one of the most diverse cities in the country and to highlight abundant flavors of this region.
Arts and crafts
The festival showcases arts, crafts and handmade products. You can also explore exhibits, workshops and live demos from local artists.
Nearly 40 restaurants and food trucks will represent the region’s diverse food scene. Make sure to stop by the kitchen demo area so you can see local chefs and food experts showcase their talents. Those 21 and over can enjoy craft beer, wine and cocktails in a separate 4,000-square-foot tent.
Live entertainment
No festival is complete without great live entertainment. Stockton Flavor Fest will feature several local and regional acts ranging from electronic music to Latin and soul.
The lineup will culminate in world-class performances from The Tierra Legacy on Saturday and from The Ohio Players on Sunday. Some of the Tierra Legacy members have originally played with the chart-topping 1970’s band Tierra hailed by leading music industry magazines as “Best R&B Vocal Group.” The Ohio Players, recipients of three consecutive platinum albums, are the 1970s pioneers of street funk and underground R&B.
