Did you know that your quest for scholarships doesn’t need to end after you start college? Pacific offers dozens of scholarship opportunities for currently enrolled students. Visit the Tiger Scholarships portal to learn more about them and to apply.
Make sure to read the scholarship eligibility requirements carefully to confirm that you qualify before applying. There are some scholarships listed in the portal which may require a higher than typically required GPA. Also, some awards are given only to students in specific academic programs or majors. So, you might need to do a bit of homework, but it will be worth it!
Examples of available scholarships
- Advancing Women’s Leadership Endowed Scholarship for undergraduate student(s) from lower to middle income families in the San Joaquin Valley, with preference for female student(s) exhibiting leadership potential.
- Caroline Cox Endowed Scholarship in Humanities for student(s) with financial need enrolled in any humanities programs in the College of the Pacific.
- Eric B. Dingler Endowed Scholarship for students with financial need who self-identify as LGBT.
The Tiger Scholarship portal opens October 1 for the 2023-24 academic year. Once you fill out the general application (and the conditional application, if applicable), you might be surprised how many scholarships you are eligible for based on your responses and academic profile.
Current Pacific students can complete the general scholarship application any time between October 1 and December 31. You will receive a decision notification in your Pacific email account in May 2023.
Applying for Tiger scholarships is a competitive process. Keep up with your classes to achieve the highest GPA possible, apply early and you might qualify for even more Tiger scholarships next year.
Merit Scholarships
Remember, if you had received any merit scholarships toward your first year of college, no action is required to renew as long as you still meet the eligibility criteria. So, keep up the good work!
The main eligibility criteria for merit scholarship renewal involve meeting Pacific’s Satisfactory Academic Progress policy:
- Maintain an overall cumulative 2.0 GPA at the end of the year
- Successfully complete/pass 67% of all units attempted
