Collaborative learning spaces are where bright minds join forces to achieve big ideas, and Pacific curates these environments throughout campus to foster valuable hands-on learning across all programs. The Fletcher Jones Foundation Makerspace, the Ted and Chris Robb Garden and The Cube are several key spaces on Pacific’s Stockton campus specially developed for collaborative, community-driven learning.
The Fletcher Jones Foundation Makerspace
Pacific’s new, 10,000-square-foot makerspace boasts state-of-the-art engineering equipment with dedicated spaces for prototyping, 3D printing, woodworking and more.
Students of Pacific’s School of Engineering and Computer Science use the makerspace for hands-on learning alongside classmates and professors. The facility is open to all engineering students and other applicable majors and regularly hosts entrepreneurship and engineering showcases.
The Ted and Chris Robb Garden
Pacific students and the local Stockton community come together in the Ted and Chris Robb Garden to harvest fresh-grown fruits and vegetables and celebrate sustainability in the community. Garden Coordinator Janice Stetson organizes a rotating team of student volunteers who tend to the garden and assist with events year-round, including regular garden markets and an annual Gardens-Giving outdoor meal.

The Innovation Commons and The Cube
Located in the William Knox Holt Library, the Innovations Commons is a technology-rich collaborative space that invites students and faculty to incorporate digital tools into research, teaching and learning. Facilities include The Cube, a compact, open-concept lab equipped with 3D printers, four virtual and augmented reality stations, large format printing and other tools. Across the hall is a digital media room with multi-projector capabilities for immersive, interactive presentations, and on the south end of the Innovation Commons is a 100-inch interactive touchscreen monitor.

Pacific Gaming Center
This all-new area offers students a chance to dive into the immersive world of gaming. Located on the garden level of the William Knox Holt Memorial Library and Learning Center, this vibrant hub is where students of all skill levels can socialize, compete and explore the esports industry.
Pacific hosts both recreational video gaming and competitive esports tournaments, complete with monetary prizes and trophies. For those interested in pursuing a career in the field, the university also offers a for-credit esports class through the Eberhardt School of Business.
