Twice a year, artists, fandoms, celebrities and the Stockton community come together for the weekend long event, StocktonCon. Held inside the Stockton Arena near downtown, you can expect to find handmade merchandise, retro novelties and, of course, loads of cosplayers. You’ll also meet the vocal talents from some of your favorite cartoons and anime. It’s the perfect excursion in town for Pacific students of any fandom.
StocktonCon also packs an impressive lineup of famous guests that competes with larger cons. This year boasted Maggie Robertson, who voiced and mo-capped Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, Marty Grabstein the voice of Courage the Cowardly Dog, Amy Allen from the Star Wars prequels and a handful of acclaimed anime voice actors. Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob will make an appearance at the winter StocktonCon, February 24-25.
Pacific Tigers, Lana Heartfield, a biology major and Nadyia Rivera, an English and political science major, were able to visit the summer StocktonCon, held July 13-14, and caught a few easter eggs while they were there. Watch the video of their day at StocktonCon.
