There’s no shortage of things to do at University of the Pacific, but the fun doesn’t stop at the edge of campus. Here are some ideas for off-campus Saturday activities to make the most of your weekends:
Areas to hang out in
- Just south of Pacific, Stockton’s iconic, pedestrian-friendly Miracle Mile is a place to hang out, get something to eat, browse stores and even buy comics. Here are a couple places to visit on a free weekend. And watch their calendar for fun events!
Other Pacific neighborhoods and areas
- Get a coffee, listen to some music or visit a salon at Yosemite Street Village, a neighborhood lined with local gems. Get a closer look at businesses there from a Pacific student.
- Do some shopping then grab sushi, burgers, pizza or Hawaiian barbecue at Park West Place (better known to locals as Trinity Park)!
- Grab a few friends and challenge yourselves to an exciting escape at Limitless Escape Games in Lincoln Center.
- Go for a hike, plan a picnic or visit the nature center at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park in the north of the city.
Cool places to visit

- Browse the world-renowned art exhibits at the Haggin Museum. (Psst! Keep an eye on their calendar for special events. Admission is also free on the first Saturday of every month!)
- If you like theater, keep an eye on the Stockton Civic Theater to see the plays it’s putting on.

- Visit Wat Dammhararam, an active Cambodian Buddhist temple located right here in Stockton. You’re welcome to visit during daylight hours and see over 90 huge, colorful statues that tell the story of the Cambodian Buddha.
- California’s Central Valley is famous for its rich soil and farm-fresh produce. Visit one of several local farmers’ markets for in-season fruits, veggies and other local goodies.

- Catch a movie at the City Center Regal IMAX theater, just two miles from campus!
- If you need to pick up the latest novel or just want a place to study off-campus, visit one of Stockton’s libraries. Troke Library is just up the road from campus, near Lincoln Center.
- Fan of baseball? Head out to the Banner Island Ballpark to watch the Stockton Ports play. If you want to head out there on a weekday, Tuesday home games are just $8 a ticket.
- Spend a day on the ice at the Oak Park Ice Rink. Check their online calendar for public skate times!

As an Alumni, my colleagues and I would drive to Yosemite Street Village. You should definitely try Terra Coffee and try their curated Ube Latte.
