Academic Assessment Update

To support Pacific's commitment to deepening our assessment of student learning and developing a shared approach to assessment practices, Dr. Glen Rogers joined Pacific last November as our full-time director of academic assessment. As a scholar and practitioner, he brings to Pacific over 30 years of experience studying and evaluating the use of assessment to enhance student learning and curricular development.

This year, Rogers and the Office of Strategy and Educational Effectiveness are offering new, practical and inspirational assessment events designed to support program chairs, staff and faculty: 

Developing Your Annual Academic Program Assessment Plan - Nov. 15

  • This hands-on workshop is primarily for program chairs and assessment coordinators. It will assist you with developing your academic program assessment plan for this year and address any questions about entering the information into Taskstream. You will leave with a draft plan in hand!  

Student Panel on Learning and Assessment at Pacific - Feb. 1

  • This event is for all Pacific educators (faculty and staff). A panel of students will share perspectives on types of assessment and learning activities that have strengthened their knowledge, abilities, and confidence in a particular course or major. Students will also share what they feel faculty needs to know most about teaching students at Pacific.     

In the spring, look for more information about Pacific's 2nd Annual Assessment Conference where faculty, staff, and students will showcase approaches to assessment of student learning. Additional assessment information is available at the resource website.
