Message from 2018 United Way Campaign Chair Stacy McAfee

Oct 10, 2017

Dear Colleague,

I am honored to serve as chair of this year's United Way campaign and to share some of the exciting changes for 2018. University of the Pacific is pleased to announce our annual United Way campaign for 2018 will be included as part of our open enrollment process from Oct. 30 – Nov. 28, 2017. You will receive all the details about our campaign and information specific to your campus in your Open Enrollment Packets coming to your home addresses by mid-October. Our campaign goal for this year is $125,000 in pledges or contributions and 500 total participants.

This year for the first time, the United Way Campaign allows all of our three-city campus communities to come together to make a difference in San Joaquin, Sacramento and San Francisco counties. If each of us joins this campaign and gives what we can, our collective participation will make a meaningful difference in our communities.

Please join the United Way's effort to change lives. As you consider your pledge, it is important to remember that you may designate any 501(c)(3) charitable institution to receive your gift, even beyond those traditionally served by United Way.

For the first time, the 2018 campaign offers a simple, fully online donation process with the option to contribute viaSmartphone giving option for United Way mobile or online pledge form.

How to give via mobile:

  • Step 1: Send a new text message to 40403
  • Step 2: Type Pacific and press send
  • Step 3: Click the link in the reply message to fill out your pledge form

How to give online:

Like so many of you, I believe that Pacific is a force for good in the communities we serve. Let's join together this year to show our communities that we are United with them in our desire to positively influence the lives of others in one more Way. GO TIGERS!

Sincerely,

Stacy McAfee
