Meet Our Outstanding 2012 Graduates

  • Amanda Zimmerman
  • Zac Bates

Zac Bates graduated from Pacific Summa Cum Laude with his B.F.A. degree in Art and Graphic Design majoring in Graphic Design. In addition to outstanding work in the classroom and studio, Zac has excelled at applying his knowledge and skill as a member of the student design team at ASUOP producing a variety of promotional design for ASUOP-sponsored campus events.

Zac's research paper "Behavioral Change Through Graphic Design" was accepted for presentation at the National Undergraduate Research Conferences this past spring at Weber State University. This project explored the influence that design has upon resolving cognitive dissonance when one is presented with visual images of equally compelling, but opposing, points of view.

Amanda Zimmerman transferred to Pacific from San Joaquin Delta College where she began her studies in the arts, with an interest in photography. In her junior year, under the direction of Dr. Merrill Schleier, Amanda produced an elegant series of still life photographs. She also collaborated with Professor Daniel Kasser on a commission from Arcadia Publishing to produce a second pictorial narrative on the history of Stockton. Stockton: Then and Now was released in January 2012.  An accompanying portfolio of twenty-five plates was exhibited at the Kress Legal Center in Downtown Stockton and is reappearing in an expanded form at the San Joaquin County Museum this summer.
