Absolute

Absolute Computrace is a tracking application that allows university-owned mobile devices such as tablets and laptops to be located using via internet if they are reported lost or stolen. Pacific Technology is able to use this service to track and remotely wipe the data from a device should the need arise. Computrace stores extensive hardware, software and configuration information.

Requirements:

Departments must make all device purchases through the Helpdesk. The Helpdesk will enroll compatible mobile devices in Computrace as part of the setup process when they are received.

Requesting the Service:

No action is normally required, as Computrace runs in the background. Pacific Technology Security Office will have the ability to locate or wipe any device that gets reported as lost or stolen.
