What's My Research?
12:00 p.m. - 01:00 p.m.
Please join us on September 28th at noon at the Digital Wall in the Library (1st floor) for “What’s My Research?” presentations by Drs. Anthony Dutoi (Chemistry) and David Lam (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) Dr. Dutoi’s research has two basic arms. One of these is to develop methods to allow ever more realistic simulations of electrons, which give the elements their chemical properties and hold atoms together in bonds. The other is to employ known models to problems of interest to chemistry colleagues, like what might be responsible for the chemical activity of an enzyme site, or whether photoelectron spectra can routinely be computed accurately enough for species identification. Dr. Lam’s research addresses the challenges he faces in the clinical management of oral and maxillofacial surgery patients. His funded research focuses on the diagnosis and management of pathology, reconstruction, nerve injury, and pain.
A light lunch will be served.
