COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave Expired

Dear Faculty, Staff and Student Employees,

Thank you for your continued commitment to caring for each other and supporting our Pacific community. We would like to remind you that California’s 2022 COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave (2022 SPSL) law expired on December 31, 2022. As a result, you will no longer see or be able to enter COVID sick hours on your timesheet/leave report. However, we are still mindful of our Pacific employees. Please note that employees still have leave options if eligibility requirements are met. These include FMLA (Family Medical and Leave Act) and CFRA (California Family Rights Act). Wage replacement options include SDI (State Disability Insurance) and PFL (Paid Family Leave) through the Employment Development Department.
