Irrigation project and Grace Covell renovation to impact Stockton Campus parking and traffic

Beginning May 18, parking along Chapel Lane, Atchley Way and Presidents Drive (around Grace Covell Hall) on the Stockton Campus will be closed and traffic along those streets will be affected. Flagging road staff will allow traffic along Chapel and Atchley during construction, but delays of up to 15 minutes are possible.

The work is necessary to accommodate two projects: a campus irrigation construction project and continuing renovation work on Grace Covell Hall.

The irrigation construction project will allow Pacific to complete its transition to using 100% non-potable water from the Calaveras River for irrigation on the Stockton Campus. Using non-potable irrigation water reduces our impact on local water supplies and results in substantial cost savings to the university. The project is expected to be completed in early June.

Grace Covell Hall is being renovated to provide a more comfortable and accommodating residence hall to welcome first-year students to Pacific. The project includes renovating all 160 rooms and shared facilities such as social spaces, restrooms and laundry rooms. The project is expected to be completed in July.

Vehicles associated with the renovation of Grace Covell Hall will relocate from Chapel Lane to parking spaces along Presidents Drive to accommodate construction for the irrigation project. The spaces will remain reserved throughout the project.
