Message from the 2019 United Way campaign chair

Message from the 2019 United Way campaign chair

I am honored to serve as chair of this year's United Way campaign for 2019. University of the Pacific is pleased to announce our annual United Way campaign for 2019 will continue to be included as part of our open enrollment process. Our campaign goal for this year is $75,000 in pledges or contributions.

Open enrollment begins Monday, Oct. 29 and ends Sunday, Nov. 18, for all three campuses. Information packets with summaries, forms, rates, changes and United Way Campaign have been sent to your home addresses for review in preparation for open enrollment. If each of us joins this campaign and gives what we can, our collective participation will make a meaningful difference in our communities.

Please join the United Way's effort to change lives. As you consider your pledge, it is important to remember that you may designate any 501(c)(3) charitable institution to receive your gift, even beyond those traditionally served by United Way. Generous donations have had a direct positive impact at Pacific, including support for our food pantry, pharmacy Mobile Medicare Clinics and the Community Involvement Program, to name a few.

Hear from Pacific graduate assistant Miranda Heaney how United Way donations impact the Pacific community:

Payroll deductions for United Way contributions can be arranged online as part of your employee benefits open enrollment process. One-time donations can be made directly on the United Way website or via your mobile device by following three simple steps:

  1. Send a new text message to 40403.
  2. Type "Tigers" and press send.
  3. Click the link in the reply message to fill out your pledge form and make a gift.

More information, announcements, videos, campaign progress and ways to give are available on the United Way campaign SharePoint site (login required).

I am personally so proud to be a part of a community that has such a strong history of giving. Let's come together this year to continue our great tradition as proud Pacific Tigers and do our part to have a positive influence in our community.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Latta
