Triple major student lands position as an engineer

Katie Ram

Katie Ram graduated from University of the Pacific in 2018 with a degree in Physics, Applied Math and Spanish. She is now working at Raytheon Technologies as a Reliability Engineer. After interviewing for different positions within the company, Reliability Engineering was the best fit for Ram, given her background in math and physics.

Ram says that Pacific’s Career Services Center helped her prepare for job interviews and enhanced her resume. “That resume got me in the door and the interview skills I learned helped me seal the deal,” says Ram. “In fact, the department manager who interviewed me became a mentor to me that first year.”

Ram advises current students that school and work are great opportunities to learn about themselves. “Go into these endeavors with introspective curiosity about who you are, what you like, and your natural abilities,” says Ram. “Doing so will make the journey more rewarding and will help you shape your path forward with purpose and value.”

Ram has remained in the Reliability Department for the past three years and has also supported work in the Systems Engineering department. Career Services is excited to continue supporting her career journey.
