making mozzarella cheese

Exciting and Engaging

on Feb 17, 2014

At Pacific we take pride in the rigorous academic preparation we provide our students. But rigorous doesn't have to mean dull. Pacific faculty members find creative and engaging ways to make important concepts clear, help develop skills and solidify knowledge. Even challenging subjects like Industrial Microbiology can come to life with activities like this workshop where Professor Geoff Lin-Cereghino uses the process of making mozzarella cheese to demonstrate the way acids and enzymes made by microbes transform milk into cheese.

Who says learning can't be fun?
