Resources and information to help employees transition to biweekly payroll and web-based time entry

Payroll and the Office of Human Resources have prepared a variety of resources and information to assist you with the transition to biweekly payroll and web-based time entry.

Updated FAQ

Be sure to check out the updated FAQ (Frequently-Asked Questions) document. It has additional questions and answers that came out of the recent supervisor training forums. Beginning in July, biweekly pay will replace our current system of issuing pay twice per month. This change means you will receive 26 paychecks each year, instead of 24 — more paychecks per year but slightly lower amounts per check as pay is spread across more paychecks.

Important dates

The transition schedule shows the transition timeline for biweekly pay and web-based time entry for students and temp casual employees, non-exempt staff, exempt staff, and graduate assistants. 

  • Phase I: Students and Temp Casual employees will transition on June 16, 2017
  • Phase II: Non-Exempt Staff will transition on July 16, 2017
  • Phase III: Exempt Staff will transition on August 1, 2017
  • Phase IV: Graduate Assistants will transition on August 21, 2017

In the transition process, the first biweekly "transitional" check will be for approximately half of your typical paycheck. Starting with the following paycheck, you will be paid for two weeks of work, every other Friday for all working days. The biweekly web-time entry payroll calendar, which includes the date each paycheck will be issued, can help you realign your schedule for budgeting paying bills.  

Helping you with the transition  

Drop-in hours: Human Resources will have drop-in hours on the Stockton Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Friday, May 12, and employees in Sacramento and San Francisco can drop in to their respective Human Resources offices at any time to ask questions or sign up for a loan or vacation cash-out.  

Budget Planning Workshop
To help employees prepare for the payroll changes coming this summer, Human Resources is planning a Budget Planning Workshop the week of June 12 on the Stockton Campus (available by webinar on the Sacramento and San Francisco campuses). The workshop will be facilitated by a Pacific alumnus Gio Trinchera from the Bank of Stockton. In the 90-minute workshops, employees will use basic budgeting tools to plan their monthly income and expenses in preparation of the change to biweekly pay. The workshop is free and open to all Pacific employees. Employees do not need to be Bank of Stockton customers and there will be no expectation or obligation to learn about or use Bank of Stockton products or services.
