Call for nominations for Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award for Stockton and Sacramento Campus staff

Mar 6, 2018

Continuing in the Pacific tradition, this spring the university will recognize two staff members on the Stockton Campus and one staff member on the Sacramento Campus who have made significant and meaningful contributions to Pacific. The Stockton Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award will be presented during the annual Staff Years of Service Luncheon on Tuesday, May 22, to two staff members (one exempt, one non-exempt) who have contributed to Pacific's vision, mission and values. The recognition event for the Sacramento Campus will be announced later this spring.

The annual award, endowed by former Vice President for Business and Finance Pat Cavanaugh and his wife, Janita, recognizes exceptional accomplishments, leadership, innovation and service to the university community. The endowment also provides for one staff member from the San Francisco and Sacramento campuses to be recognized each year.

The nomination period for the Stockton Campus recipients is March 1 through April 13, 2018. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to submit nominations. The nomination period for Sacramento Campus staff is March 12 through April 24, 2018. The San Francisco Campus nomination period will be announced in late fall and is presented annually at a ceremony in December.

Nomination forms must be accompanied by at least two, but no more than three, letters of support from members of the University community. Nominations will be reviewed and recipients chosen by a selection committee comprised of past award recipients. The recipients of the Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award will receive a check in the amount of $500, an "A" parking permit for the following academic year (Stockton Campus only), an award plaque, and a photo and feature article in the Pacific Insider.
