University of the Pacific is a nationally ranked comprehensive university and California’s first chartered institution of higher learning. Established in 1851, Pacific has nearly 6,300 students and 10 schools and colleges across three campuses in northern California.

About the Role

The Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is a driven, strategic and entrepreneurial professional with the knowledge and skills to secure six- and seven-figure gifts from foundations, corporations and other private grant-making organizations locally, regionally and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Senior Director will work with senior university leadership, faculty and staff to help guide and pursue funding opportunities that align with mission-driven priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five years of progressively responsible and successful work experience with foundation and/or corporate fundraising.


Preferred

  • Experience in higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully soliciting and stewarding six- and seven- figure foundation and corporate grants.


Skills/Knowledge and Expertise Include:

  • Demonstrated ability in grant and proposal writing at appropriate levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve goals.
  • Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for managing a diverse number of projects in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Management experience.
