‘Expanding Your Horizons’ STEM Conference

The San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons conference, in its 30th year, focuses on girls in grades 6 through 12 who are interested in careers in STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and math.Students will take part in STEM-related activities including Lego robotics, amazing everyday chemistry and an egg-drop challenge.
The conference is sponsored by University of the Pacific and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories/California. The School of Engineering and Computer Sciences organized the event, which will have sessions led by other Pacific science departments.
Dr. Kim Budil, director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will give the keynote address.
