Center for Teaching and Learning undergoes transformation

In order to focus clearly on the pedagogical development of faculty and to bolster University College's effort to deliver online courses that meet compliance and accreditation standards, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has been reorganized as of Sept. 1, 2018.

The CTL team consisting of Lott Hill, director; Leslie Bayers, associate director; Tara Buñag, senior instructional designer; Rosalinda Boyette, instructional media specialist; Heather Chappell, administrative assistant; and an instructional developer will remain in William Knox Holt Memorial Library and work directly with the vice provost for faculty affairs. The CTL's inclusive programming reinforces Pacific's commitment to provide faculty with the resources needed to advance their expertise as teachers, mentors and advisors.

Hybrid and online course development will be supported by University College's Academic Technology staff: Lloyd Curtis, manager of curricular technology; Erica Peppers, instructional designer; and Hsin Han "David" Yu, instructional designer. Though housed at Pacific's March Lane facilities and reporting to the dean of University College, instructional designers will still be available to meet with faculty in their offices or in available shared space on any of the three campuses.

In addition, the Pacific Technology Helpdesk will provide Canvas support for faculty at all three campuses, in consultation with the University College Instructional Designers (for Canvas course design), the CTL (for pedagogical approach), or the Canvas vendor, Instructure (844.698.7483, 24/7 for direct support).
