Employee COVID-19 vaccination information required by Friday, June 11

Dear Pacific faculty and staff,

As we continue to prepare for and look forward to our return to campus, I want to make you aware of some important information.

Last month, we communicated that Pacific is requiring all new and returning students to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before returning to campus this summer and fall (with exceptions for medical and religious reasons).

While we are still considering whether to require employees to be vaccinated prior to returning to work on campus, the vaccination status of our community will affect how we teach and work on our campuses. The more our community is vaccinated, the more we can return to a vibrant campus with the full range of activities and services that are essential to our students’ success.

Knowing the percentage of our campus communities that have been vaccinated is essential to plan our return as we anticipate Gov. Gavin Newsom’s June 15 update on COVID-19 protocols.

We have created a secure portal for employee vaccination information, with appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of protected health information, and set limits and conditions on the uses and access of such information. If you have been fully vaccinated at one of Pacific’s COVID-19 vaccination clinics; we already have your vaccine information, you do not need to do anything at this time.

If you have been fully vaccinated somewhere other than one of Pacific’s vaccination clinics, we are requiring you to upload a scan or image of your completed vaccination card to our secure portal by this Friday, June 11.

For individuals who work on the San Francisco Campus, you will receive detailed information on how to provide your vaccination information in the coming days.

If you have not yet been vaccinated, we encourage you to do so for your health and the health of our community. Employees will have another opportunity to get their first or second shot this Saturday, June 12 at our next clinic on the Stockton Campus.

To make an appointment for this clinic or find another clinic where you can walk in or make an appointment, please visit the Vaccinations tab of Pacific’s COVID-19 website or California's My Turn website.

If you have questions about employee health and safety requirements or Pacific’s response to COVID-19, please visit the EmployeeStudent and Safety Plan tabs on our COVID-19 website or email the COVID-19 Council at COVID-19_information@pacific.edu.

Together, #WeCanDoThis. Together, we can help combat COVID-19.

I look forward to seeing you in person!

Sincerely,

Maria Pallavicini, PhD
Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs
Chair, COVID-19 Council
