Pacific increases efforts to grow enrollment

University of the Pacific continues to intensify its efforts on increasing enrollment “yield” (defined as the number of admitted students who ultimately choose to attend the university) in a growingly competitive and dynamic environment.

The offices of enrollment management and marketing and communications, the schools and colleges, and the university community are taking steps to deeply engage admitted students through several initiatives.

In addition to our regular schedule of large-scale admission events, this spring Pacific is adding a second event for all students admitted through our early action program. We will welcome admitted students to campus on February 22 and again on April 4 for campus-wide programming. Throughout March, we will hold numerous smaller events both on and off-campus to target cohorts of admitted students.

We are also expanding our digital marketing touchpoints, including a social media campaign, two-way text/chat communications with admitted students, an updated financial aid website and an upcoming microsite (a focused collection of webpages) specifically designed to attract students to Pacific.

The offices of enrollment management and institutional research and decision support will continue to post updated fall 2020 enrollment reports (viewable with PacificNet login).

Everyone plays an important role in yielding new students and helping them feel welcome. Sharing a smile or introducing yourself to visiting students and families can have a positive and lasting impact!
