Travel guidelines for winter break

Dear Pacific students and employees,

As we approach the end of the academic term, we know many of us will be traveling.

For the health and wellness of our communities, Pacific is strongly encouraging all students and employees to get their COVID-19 booster shot when eligible. Based on CDC and California Department of Public Health guidelines, those age 16 and older are eligible for a booster dose once the appropriate time has lapsed from the original series.

The final Stockton Campus clinic, which will offer COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, is this afternoon, 2–6 p.m. Find details here.

Pacific’s weekly testing clinic hours will be modified beginning Dec. 13 and will close completely from Thursday, Dec. 23 thru Monday, Jan. 3.

For your convenience, essential travel information is provided below; additional information can be found on the CDC website.

If you are not fully vaccinated:

  • Traveling while unvaccinated is highly discouraged.
  • Before you travel:
    • Check local travel restrictions.
    • Get a viral test 1–3 days before your trip.
  • Wear a mask while traveling.
  • After you travel:
    • Self-quarantine for 7 days after traveling if you have a negative viral test 3–5 days after returning.
    • Self-quarantine for 10 days if you do not get tested.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

Effective Nov. 8, 2021, all non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. immigrants traveling to the United States by air are required to show proof of vaccination (FDA- or WHO-approved only).

Current CDC guidelines for international travel are on the CDC’s website. A quick reference guide for international air travel to the United States is also available. Be aware that travel requirements differ based on U.S. citizenship/residency.

Anyone traveling internationally should review the CDC’s guidelines for international travel prior to departure. A brief summary of requirements is included below:
