University compliance team rolls out new website and helpline

Last year, to increase awareness of compliance requirements and to strengthen internal policies and procedures, the university reorganized its compliance functions and President Pamela Eibeck appointed Associate General Counsel Margaret Denton as Pacific's chief compliance officer.

Denton and a team of Pacific employees have developed a new compliance program with resources to help faculty, staff and students do the right thing and ensure Pacific is a safe, secure and ethical place to work and learn.

  • The first new resource is the compliance team, a "one-stop shop" of university compliance unit leads who represent areas of university business such as human resources, finance, academic support and student affairs, and are available to answer questions and provide guidance in their respective areas.

  • A new compliance website lists the compliance leads, their areas of responsibility and contact information. Also available on the website is a new compliance helpline. Hosted by a third-party provider, EthicsPoint, members of the university community can contact the helpline to request guidance for compliance questions and concerns, and to report compliance issues. Requests and reports can be made on a confidential, anonymous basis.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to visit the compliance website to learn more about the program and to become familiar with and begin using the resources available there. Denton and the compliance leads are also available to make presentations to your department or unit.
