Social justice issues manifest themselves in different ways across the university. For this reason, embedded within every academic unit and administrative division are DEI leads, Pacific faculty and staff identified by their dean or vice president to lead DEI efforts within their division or school/college. These individuals have a dotted line to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and have DEI-related responsibilities embedded within their job description. Many also serve on the University Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet monthly with peer group and VP for DEI (September through May)
  • Share freely with peers’ best practices
  • Report DEI-related concerns and needs so that VP for DEI can understand, aggregate, and support institutional needs, patterns and opportunities
