Session 2
At Pacific Piano Camp, students will meet other young pianists, have numerous opportunities to perform, discover new skills and repertoire, and explore new ideas about practicing, listening critically and playing with conviction.
The piano program is intended for entry level and/or developing piano students who have some previous piano experience.
Students will build a musical foundation by learning its basic elements and will apply their understanding at the piano. This involves identifying the structure and different components of music, developing technique and musical ideas and creating a regimen to further develop their musicianship.
In working with each student, we will discuss the different components of music, such as note reading, rhythm, harmony, melody and dynamics. Students will also develop their technique at the piano through topics such as fingering, sight reading, practice habits and musical structure.

Pianist Jun Lee has an active career performing and teaching in Stockton and the Bay Area. In 2022, she performed Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 2 with the University Symphony Orchestra as a winner of Pacific’s Concerto competition. Jun works with students of different levels and ages through the Pacific Community Music School and her private studio. Jun also holds positions as music director at First Presbyterian Church and concert music assistant at Cesar Chavez High School. She works often in musical theatre, both at Stockton Civic Theatre and Lincoln High School. Jun believes that music is an essential part of life as it brings imagination and comfort to people of all ages. She values music because of its power to form interactions between the performer and the audience and because of its ability to include everyone in the experience regardless of one’s background.
