BIOGRAPHY AND TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Michelle McDaniel received her Masters of Social Work degree from California State University, Sacramento in 2002 and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus in 1999.  She is currently licensed in the state of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has extensive experience working with children, youth, and adults in a variety of clinical settings.

Michelle's clinical interests include supporting individuals of diverse backgrounds in learning effective coping strategies and techniques to manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, life problems, grief, relational issues, and trauma.  She enjoys providing client-centered treatment and services that foster personal growth and development using Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Behavior Change, and Mindfulness skills.  


Training Program Roles:

Michelle formally joined the University of the Pacific CAPS team in May 2020, and became Co-Coordinator of Outreach and Programming in June 2021.  Michelle currently co-facilitates Outreach Seminar with Dr. Shane Saenz, and actively participates in many outreach opportunities across all three campuses.  Michelle leads a weekly skills development-focused group called Wise Minds.
