Famed naturalist John Muir and an editor for Century Magazine Robert Underwood Johnson camped at the Toulumne Meadows above Yosemite Valley in 1889. Over their days and evenings of June, Johnson inspired Muir to create Yosemite National Park, start the Sierra Club, set aside more National Parks and eventually work tirelessly to save Hetch Hetchy.
