Whether you are a recent graduate seeking to gain more knowledge in oral surgery or a well-established practitioner looking to broaden your scope of practice, this program will teach you the skills to perform basic oral surgery procedures with confidence. Dr. Liu will cover patient selection and, more importantly, what types of cases should be referred to a specialist.During the hands-on portion, you will spend time working with dentoform models to demonstrate and practice techniques learned in the lecture. The workshop will include extraction techniques on a variety of teeth including third molar impactions, bone grafting for implant site development, suturing and creation of flaps. A basic oral surgery instrument tray with a selection of essential armamentarium will be provided for use in the course and a comprehensive list of instruments will be given to attendees. He also completed a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and a fellowship in pediatric craniomaxillofacial surgery at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Liu has been active in the oral surgery community and has given many invited lectures on various topics. He is passionate about orthognathic and cleft surgery and is currently an attending for the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.
