Tigers Have Pride!

Join Pacific in celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month and honor the vibrant, diverse, and resilient LGBTQIA2S+ community. While Pride Month is recognized nationally in June in commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, Pacific celebrates in October to align with LGBTQ+ History Month and uplift the stories, achievements, and contributions of LGBTQIA2S+ people.

Throughout the month, students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to come together for programs that celebrate identity, foster belonging, deepen understanding, and inspire pride.

JOTA is a solo performance that follows a young queer Mexican Indigenous woman as she navigates a pivotal moment of self-discovery and transformation. Created by multidisciplinary artist Katherine Bahena-Benítez, a playwright-in-residence with La Lengua Teatro at Brava Theater and member of the Miranda Family Fellowship's Slaywriting Cohort, the piece reclaims a term historically used to marginalize LGBTQIA+ communities and transforms it into a story of resilience and empowerment. JOTA was selected as one of only three U.S. productions featured in the prestigious REDELAE 2026 Catalog.
